Omeruo Seeks Just One Official Game With Chelsea

Leganes of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo has confessed that he has a strong desire to play at least just one senior competitive match with Chelsea, from where he moved on loan to his present base this past summer.

Although Omeruo says he is enjoying life in Spain and particularly at Leganes, he admits he has nostalgia about Chelsea, where he first signed back in 2012.

However, now close to seven years since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Omeruo is yet to make a competitive appearance for the London-based former English Premier League champions.

The former Sunshine Stars of Akure and Standard Liege of Belgium dark-skinned defender has been loaned to ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasımpaşa and Alanyaspor despite being eligible for a UK work permit.

Though he is now settling down fast at Leganes, who have an option to sign him permanently at the end of his loan deal, Omeruo says he would love to play at least one official game for Chelsea.

Omeruo said : ”I’ve played in the English championship, I’ve gotten a feel of that but La Liga is very good.

“If I end up playing for Chelsea someday fine, because it is one of the biggest teams in the world and they have the highest fan base in Nigeria.

“I would love to play for them, even if it’s just a game, but right now I am very happy with my life here in Spain.”
