Omeruo Faces Suspension, After Third Yellow Card

Leganes of Spain central defender, Kenneth Omeruo may not be eligible for the club’s next match in La Liga, after getting his third yellow card of the season on Sunday – and he could be heading for suspension.

Sports247.ng learnt that accumulated bookings might work against the dark-skinned Super Eagles star, who is on loan at Leganes from Chelsea of England.

Unfortunately, Omeruo took a step further into the disciplinary books on an evening he played 90 minutes for the third straight match in La Liga and helped his team beat Real Betis 3-0 at Estadio Municipal Butarque.

Omeruo, who got his 16th league game overall so far this season, was shown a yellow card in the 53rd minute, but stats in his favour showed he had a tremendous performance once again.

The former Standard Liege of Belgium defender, who has also played on loan at ADO Den Haag of Holland, Middlesbrough of England as well as Konyaspor and Kasimpasa of Turkey, got 33 touches of the ball.

He also won an aerial duel, completed a dribble, made one tackle, got one interception and executed seven clearances in the victory that took his side to 11th on the table with 29 points.
