Olegacy FC Set for Tough Test Against ECN FC in Abuja Friendly Ahead of Youth Leagues

Olegacy FC will continue preparations for the 2026 Afrisportpro Youth League and the Nationwide League One (NLO) Youth League with a high-profile friendly match against ECN FC in Abuja.

The encounter is scheduled to take place at Bako Field, Gwagwalada, by 4 PM, with both teams expected to use the fixture to assess their readiness ahead of upcoming competitions.

Olegacy FC, a grassroots football club with over 26 years of experience in youth development across Nigeria, recently established a new branch in Kwali, Abuja, as part of efforts to expand its football development structure.

Speaking to Sports247 ahead of the game, Olegacy FC coach, Daniel, expressed confidence in his players despite acknowledging the challenge of facing ECN FC away from home.

“We are ready to give our all in this game. We recognize what going away means, and although we may be the underdogs in this clash, we are a big team with a lot of pedigree,” he said.

Team captain, Hosea, also shared the excitement within the squad, insisting the players are determined to seize the opportunity.

“This is the opportunity we have been waiting for. We are in high spirits, and all the boys are ready to make this count. ECN will have a run for their money tomorrow,” Hosea stated.

On the other side, ECN FC coach, popularly known as Coach Daddy, remained calm and reserved ahead of the encounter, choosing to allow his team’s performance do the talking.

“I would rather not talk too much because ECN is a big team and will always prove superiority on the pitch rather than in a pre-match conference. I hope my team will have all to say during the post-match conference,” he remarked.

The friendly is expected to provide both sides with valuable match fitness and tactical evaluation as preparations intensify for the forthcoming youth football season in Nigeria.
