Ogun Women Run: Organizers Confirm April 11 for 2026 Edition

Organizers of the women-focused 5km race, Ogun Women Run, have announced April 11, 2026, as the date for the fourth edition of the event in Abeokuta.

The race, put together by Brussels Sports Management Limited, has continued to grow steadily since its inception in 2022. What began as a fitness initiative has evolved into a vibrant platform promoting women’s health, empowerment, and community engagement across Ogun State.

Managing Director of Brussels Sports Management Limited, Mrs Yetunde Johnson, confirmed that preparations are already in full swing to deliver a seamless and memorable event.

“We are working around the clock to ensure that the 2026 edition is bigger and better in every aspect. All necessary arrangements are being put in place to stage a well-organised and impactful race for participants,” she said.

Mrs Johnson reiterated that the primary objective of the Ogun Women Run remains encouraging women to prioritise fitness while building confidence, unity, and empowerment through sport.

The maiden edition of the race was won by Olude Kehinde Ajoke in 2022, setting the tone for what has now become a notable annual celebration of strength, wellness, and active living among women.

Ogun women will now converge on the state’s capital city in an attempt to dethrone Aderonke Alabi, who claimed the top prize during the third edition
