Ogu set to join Onazi and Nwaekeme in Trabzonspor after an emotional farewell in Israel.

Super Eagles midfielder, Ugochukwu John Ogu is set to sign for Turkish Super Lig side, Trabzonspor after playing his last game for Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Sports247 report.

The 31-year-old who joined the Be’er Sheva-based side in the summer of 2014 from Portuguese club Academica is free to negotiate with any club as his contract expires next month.

Ogu, who was in tears in his last game against Maccabi Tel Aviv has been reported to have agreed on personal terms with Trabzonspor.

The Akwa United youth product scored a total of 13 goals in 140 league appearances,  winning three Isreali Premier League and two Super Cup titles during his five years stay in Israel.

Ogu arrival will increase the number of Nigerians at Trabzonspor to three, with his former Hapoel Be’er Sheva teammate, Anthony Nwaekeme and Ogenyi Onazi already key members of the side.

The combative midfielder made his international debut in a 1-1 draw against Kenya in March 2013 and is also part of the 25-man provisional list released by Coach Gernot Rohr ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
