ODSFA boss rallies stars ahead of Gov Wike Unity Cup knockouts

The Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Otunba Tajudeen Akinyemi has charged the players of Sunshine Stars FC to go all out for glory in Saturday’s Governor Wike Unity Cup semi final tie with MFM FC and a possible final duel on the same day.

 

 

Akinyemi who is also the President of Sunshine Stars made the rallying call while addressing the players and officials of the Club at their base in Portharcourt Friday.

The long time FIFA licensed agent also heaped praises on the coach Kabiru Dogo tutored side for their impressive run of form at the Garden City tournament and urged the team to secure their second preseason trophy for Governor Aketi and the good people of Ondo State.

Akinyemi stated: _”I must commend you for the impressive performance so far in this tournament, I know it’s just a preseason competition, but I want you to add the trophy to the Gold Cup._

_”At this period (yuletide) making it two trophies for our Governor, Aketi and our supporters back home in Akure and Ondo State in general will speak volume of our seriousness for the new season.”_

Akinyemi also assured the players and officials that their welfare will not be taken for granted and vowed the grey areas in the team’s preparation will be sorted out in time for the commencement of the 2018/19 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

While speaking, both Coach Dogo and captain, Sunday Abe expressed gratitude to Akinyemi and the Club management at large for their efforts and suppprt to the team’s course, before promising to fight for honour on the decisive day of the Unity Cup.

Rivers United take on Abia Warriors in the other semifinal at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium by 8a.m, while the final is slated for 5p.m at the Sharks Stadium.
