Former Nigeria youth international, Monday Odiaka, has called on the Flying Eagles to stay focused and leave everything on the pitch as they face Argentina in the FIFA U-20 World Cup round of 16.
In an interview, Odiaka said the players must remember that the entire country is behind them and that this is their chance to write their names in history. “Every Nigerian is watching and praying for you. It’s time to show the world the true Nigerian spirit,” he said.

He emphasized that this match is not one to approach with fear, noting that the players should instead draw strength from their unity and preparation. “Argentina are a strong team, but they are not unbeatable. If we stay disciplined and stick to our plan, we can win,” Odiaka added.
The former youth star also encouraged the technical team to study Argentina’s play carefully, identifying weaknesses that can be exploited. “By now, the coaches would have seen their patterns. It’s all about executing on the day,” he said.
The Flying Eagles face Argentina knowing that victory would be a major statement of intent as they chase Nigeria’s first-ever U-20 World Cup title.
