Fast-rising Nigerian professional wrestler and rave of the moment in the roped square, Isaac Odugbesan (aka Oba Femi) will tango USA’s Jay Uso in the final of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) King Of The Ring on Saturday.
Sports247 reports that, while Oba Femi qualified for the final two weeks ago, Uso booked a spot against ‘The Ruler’ on Friday, after beating Je’Von Evans in the second semi-final during WWE SmackDown at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
It was the 1,400th episode of SmackDown and was filled with important stakes from top to bottom, during which Oba Femi’s next opponent emerged from fight number four on the night, as Uso focused on Evans’ injured midsection to slow him down.
Uso managed to get things in his favour, though the fight faced several commercial breaks and Evans attempted to mount a comeback, as he ran into the first row behind the timekeeper’s area, and hit Uso with a Spanish fly.
Despite all the odds, Uso would get the win after stopping Evans’ rally by nailing his opponent with his deadly Splash, which confirmed that he moves on to face Oba Femi in the final on WWE’s Night of Champions 2026.
Oba Femi will now set his mind of how to defeat Jay Uso this coming Saturday at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as they clash for the ‘Main Event’ in the King of the Ring Tournament Final at WWE Night of Champions.
A preview on wwe.com noted in part, “After conquering Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania before falling short against The Beast in a rematch at the historic WWE Clash in Italy, Femi regrouped to earn a ‘Fatal 4-Way’ victory.
“(It came) over Intercontinental Champion Penta, Solo Sikoa and Carmelo Hayes in the first round. He then dominated AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio in the semifinals. In many ways, ‘The Ruler’ looks unstoppable.
“Will ‘The Ruler’ continue his reign of domination and take his place as king? Or will the former world heavyweight wrestling champion earn a world title opportunity for The Bloodline at SummerSlam?”
