NWFL 2020/21: We Fought To Finish Unlike The Other Matches We Lost- Kalu Favour Admits…Says Her Target Is To Help Her Team And Get Better Offers Elsewhere

After her team’s impressive hard fought 3-2 win over Ibom Angels, Versatile Player of DreamStar Ladies, Kalu Favour has stated that her team’s hard-fought determination to win help them claim victory over Ibom Angels in their match week 4 fixture of the 2020/2021 NWFL season.

DreamStar Ladies defeated Ibom Angels 3-2 on Wednesday to earn their first win of the league season, after 3 straight losses in the league so far.

Speaking with Sports247 after the match, Kalou Favour expressed her happiness towards her team’s victory over Ibom Angels, stating that her team fought to finish, to ensure that they pick up their first maximum points of the campaign, unlike the previous first 3 matches in the league, which they lost.

“The fight today (Yesterday) was great. We fought to finish, unlike the other matches we lost. Though we scored and they equalized, we scored again and they equalized again but the third one that we scored, there was no chance of them equalizing it, because we had to defend well, fighting hard till the end for us to earn the maximum points to ensure we get our first win of the League season”, the versatile player stated.

When being asked about the feeling in the team’s camp after losing their first three games of the league season, Favour admitted that the feeling has not been great, because of the poor run of losses, stating that they were determined and focused to win the game against Ibom Angels most especially for the coach, as well as the players who have been heavily criticized and placed under pressure due to their first 3 league losses of the season.

“It hasn’t really been easy for everyone, both the Coach and the players. We losing three matches, some people have started discussing if it was the Coach’s fault or the players’ fault because some players have been missing their chances and the Coach have been making mistakes about the first eleven, second eleven, and the entire team, but thank God that we won the game today (yesterday), and we all are so happy about it, as we look forward to winning our next game,” she started.

Kalu Favour finally stated that her target is to help her team (Dreamstar Ladies) achieve great things this season, as she hopes to get better offers elsewhere as well.
