NWFL 2020/21: FC Robo Queens Out To Inflict More Pains On Pelican Stars

Having lost their last match against Bayelsa Queens in week three of Nigeria Women Football League in Yenegoa, the Lagos based premier club, FC Robo Queens are ready to inflict more pains on Pelican Stars when both lock horn tomorrow in week four of the ongoing Nigeria Women Premier League scheduled for astroturf of National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Pelican Stars lost 3-0 to Osun Babes in Osogbo while their counterpart suffered their first defeat in Yenegoa.

Both teams would go into tomorrow’s match with high expectations but the home team is more determined, focused, and ready to clinch the three points at stake considering the fact that a victory for them would move them closer to the top of the table depending on the results of other matches at various centers.

On the other hand, the visiting team are coming to Lagos to shock the home team or get a point knowing full well that a defeat would not good for them and it may condemn them to the relegation zone.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s tie, the Chairman who doubles as Head coach of FC Robo Queens, Emmanuel Osahon said their match against Pelican Stars would be tough but noted that his girls are ready to go out for victory.

He admitted that the match is very crucial for his team if they want to move closer to the top. He disclosed that anything short of victory would be a temporary setback for the team and charged his girls to go out and make Lagosians proud in tomorrow’s encounter.

“We cannot afford to draw or lose against Pelican Stars because this is the match I need to win if we want to move up. I know that our opponents lost their last match too and they are coming to Lagos to get a good result.

“Let me say this, it is not going to be easy for them because my girls are more determined, focused, and ready to give their opponents a run for their money. I am using this medium to call on our fans to continue to pray for us so as to achieve a good result in tomorrow’s game,” he said.
