The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Chief Adeyinka Anthony Adeboye, has expressed profound appreciation to the Gbengade of Ososa Ijebu, His Royal Majesty Oba Adetoye Alatishe, following his conferment with the traditional title of Baba Ewe of Ososa Land, Ijebu.
Adeboye described the honour as a significant milestone in his life and, more importantly, another call to deepen his commitment to youth development, community advancement and service to humanity.
In an appreciation message following the conferment, the Presidential aide thanked the monarch for finding him worthy of the honour and for the confidence reposed in him.
“I am deeply humbled and sincerely grateful for the honour and privilege bestowed upon me by His Royal Majesty, Oba Adetoye Alatishe, the Gbengade of Ososa Ijebu. I receive this distinguished chieftaincy title with profound gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility,” Adeboye said.
He extended special appreciation to the royal family, traditional chiefs, elders and the entire people of Ososa Land for the warmth, acceptance and hospitality extended to him and his family throughout the occasion.
Adeboye also thanked his family, friends, colleagues, associates and well-wishers who stood by him and contributed in different ways towards making the conferment a memorable occasion.
He particularly acknowledged those who travelled from near and far to celebrate with him, as well as those who sent congratulatory messages, made calls, offered prayers and gifts, and provided financial, logistical and other forms of support.
For Adeboye, however, becoming Baba Ewe of Ososa Land, Ijebu, goes beyond the celebration and prestige associated with receiving a traditional title.
“This honour is not only a recognition; it is a call to greater service, responsibility and commitment. I accept the title of Baba Ewe with humility and a determination to continue contributing positively to the development, unity and progress of our people and communities,” he stated.
The title also complements Adeboye’s responsibilities as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, where his work is centred on expanding opportunities for young Nigerians and creating sustainable pathways for talent development through sports.
He pledged to continue using his position, experience and relationships to support initiatives capable of positively impacting young people and strengthening communities.
Adeboye concluded by praying for the continued good health and successful reign of the Gbengade while expressing gratitude to everyone who shared in the historic occasion.
“To Kabiyesi, the royal family, chiefs, elders and people of Ososa, as well as my family, friends, colleagues and everyone who celebrated this milestone with me, I say a heartfelt thank you.
“May Almighty God reward your kindness and grant us many more opportunities to celebrate together in peace, good health and prosperity.”
