NPFL: NASARAWA UNITED HAD IT SO LATE AGAINST PLATEAU UNITED WITH 3 POINTER

Lafia Township Stadium was alive on Thursday as the North Central derby between Nasarawa United and Plateau United lock on in one of the Match Day 7 fixtures.

 

The MD 7 cracker lived up to much billing as Sunusi Ibrahim benefited from a cut back from Anas Yusuf to fire in the opener as Nasarawa United ran into an early lead in the 8th minute.

 

Plateau United who had much of possession could not optimise the much Chance’s against Solid miners as Jesse Akila and Bernard Ovoke were restricted to little or no space by the resolute defending of the Solid miners.

Second half half duel makes Sunusi Ibrahim turned provider when his return pass was headed home by Adeshola Johnson, Emmanuel Edafe’s late goal from a goal mouth scrabble was not enough as the Solid Miners claimed their first home win in three games over Plateau United.

Speaking journalists shortly after the game, Nasarawa United Assistant Coach, Arikya Abubakar disclosed that though his side struggled he was happy that his boys were able to put behind the loss to Kano Pillars by putting up a masterclass to claim the full points at stake against Plateau United.

“We obviously learnt from the loss to Kano Pillars but to the boys improved by d defeating Plateau United”.
