NPFL: YOBE DESERT FANS VANDALIZED AKWA UNITED BUS AFTER HOME LOSS IN DAMATURU

It was a distasteful report in Damaturu in of the Nigeria Professional Football League fixtures as another case of home team destroying and vandalizing away teams properties for winning them in their home was reported today in Yobe against Akwa United of Uyo.

 

 

Though Super Eagles of Nigeria was conspicuously written on Akwa United team bus but it was the bus that conveyed the team from Uyo that was vandalized by the home fans and the players trapped at the pitch after their 1-0 win against Yobe Desert Stars.

 

 

Irate Yobe Desert Stars fans who expected an outright win against the visitors went after the game to where Akwa United parked their bus within the premisses of the stadium and Vandalized the bus which ferry the team from Uyo to Damaturu due to their home team losing at home.

 

It woudl be recalled that so many cases of referees assault and beaten of away teams officials have been recorded since the league commenced in January and leading to some teams banishment to other states for their home games due to fans encroachment and misconduct.

 

The first incident happened in Jos new stadium on match day one between Plateau United and Ifeanyi Ubah where Plateau United fans beat up the referees that officiated thier match day one before another pelting and beating of referees took place on match day 3 in Sagamu when Remo Stars fans beat up the center referee for disallowing a goal they thought that could have stood against Bendel Insurance of Benin.

 

Other cases of fans misconduct are Elkanemi Warriors fans against Nasarawa United, Plateau United against Kano Pillars and Niger Tornadoes against Bendel Insurance where a fine of #1M was given to the defaulters
