NPFL: MFM Top-scorer Delighted To End Goal Drought

MFM FC striker Adeniji Kabir is delighted to end his drought in front of goal, following his side’s 2-1 victory over Kastina United at the Agege Stadium on Monday.

The sharpshooter broke the deadlock in the 11th minute as the Olukoya boys kept their hope of securing a playoff spot alive.

Adeniji whose last goal came in a 2-0 win over Sunshine on Matchday 10 reveals how hard it was for him to handle the drought.

“It wasn’t easy not scoring goals, because as a striker, you always want to score goals,” Adeniji told Sportlens360.

“It had started to play on my mind and was very heavy on me but the goal I scored today is a relief and I’m very happy about it.”

Adeniji has scored five league goals this season – levelled with teammate Chijioke Akuneto. He will be looking to end the season on a high when MFM visit Sunshine Stars in their final league game of the season on Sunday.

MFM is fourth on the Group A log with 32 points, a point behind Enyimba who occupy the final playoff spot.
