NPFL: Deputy Gov, Sports Commission boss charges Insurance to begin season with win

The Deputy Governor of Edo state Rt Hon Philip Shaibu and the state Sports Commission Chairman,Barr Dudu Orumen have charged players of Bendel Insurance to go for winning as the newly promoted side begin their premier league campaign against Remo Stars on Sunday.

 

The deputy Governor accompanied by the sports commission chairman gave the charge when he visited the Benin Arsenals during their morning training session at the university of Benin sports complex. Comrade Shaibu was with the team as usual to give them words of encouragement.

The deputy Governor congratulated the insurers and tasked them on winning their first game of the new season.
“Let me congratulate you again for the Super 8 success and return to the premier league. Now everybody is talking about Bendel Insurance because you have done well. I urge you to continue with the form of Aba super 8 tournament.

Also have it in mind that we can finish top in the NPFL after which super six or eight will follow.

As you begin the season on Sunday,start with a win by beating Remo Stars then come back home prepared to beat the next opponents. We must continue with the Super 8 winning mentality and for that to be possible, we must continue to play as a team.

You guys are good and do not allow any intimidation but believe in yourselves and you can win anywhere. Government is always ready to do its part,so do yours by winning every game.” He sad.

 

Speaking earlier, the sports commission chairman Orumen who commended the deputy Governor for his commitment to the well being of Insurance, urged the players to give their best against Remo Stars on Sunday.

 

“The deputy Governor is solidly behind you. I have not seen anybody so committed to any project like this. So, I urge you to reciprocate by playing well and winning. Be focused and have it at the back of your mind that no team is better than you in the premier league”. Orumen said.

Insurance who returned to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) along with Remo Stars will begin their premier league campaign away to the fellow returnees on Sunday after postponement of their opening games of the season to enable them prepare after the recent Super 8 battle in Aba,Abia state.

Insurance were scheduled to play their first game against Wiki Tourists and second one at home against Enyimba Fc before the postponement notice.

Responding, the Technical Manager of Bendel Insurance coach Monday Odigie thanked the deputy Governor and the sports commission chairman for their unwavering commitment to the well being of the club.
