NNL Super-4: Bashiru Hassan Speaks After Sinking Sporting Lagos – ‘I Learnt To Score Crucial Goals In Warri’

Inter Lagos FC sensation, Bashir Hassan is relishing his lone goal that gave his side victory against Sporting Lagos on Friday and disclosed that he learnt to score that way while he was growing up in Warri.

It took Hasssn just seven minutes to hit home the single goal that earned his team second place at this year’s Nigerian National League (NNL) Super-4 in Ikenne, Ogun State and the youngster admitted afterwards that he felt on top of the world.

The former student of Dore Numa College in Warri told Sports247 that he started playing active football with FC Galaxy in the oil rich city of Delta State.

Dramatically, though he earlier had a short stint with Warri Wolves in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), he returned to the third-tier third-tier with Ladegbuwa FC before joining Inter Lagos last year.

Incidentally, his current coach at Inter Lagos, Shakiru Giwa was also the gaffer during their days together at Ladegbuwa, which Hassan admitted made it easier to settle down at his current base.

“I am happy that I have gained promotion to the Premier League and won silver in the Super-4 after just one season with Inter Lagos.

“I want to thank my mentor and agent, Darlington Omodiagbe for bringing me to this club and I thank everyone who has made me happy in the team.

“My target is to play football at the top. I am happy that we will play in the NPFL next season, because that will help me to showcase my talent better,” said Hassan, who adores the style of Eden Hazard.
