NNL 2021/22 : NNL Sanctions Player Of Family Worship And Team Manager Of NAF Football Clubs For Attacks On Match Officials

Nigeria national league has placed a four match ban on Friday Musa ,who plays in the defensive position with Family Worship Centre Football club and Yakubu Yila Sadiq, the team manager of the Nigerian Air force Football club (NAF FC) following assaults against match officials.

Both Friday Musa and Yakubu Yila Sadiq were indicted by match reports and NNL had to invoke relevant portion of the rule book to sanction the two.

Reportedly, Friday Musa after their match day four which they lost 0-1 to El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri attacked the match officials and was joined by irate supporters of his club in dealing with the referees.

Consequently, Family Worship FC are to pay the sum of One Million naira ( N1,000,000.),

Nnl also, issued stern warnings to Mr. Ben Eni, the team Manager of Family Worship Centre Champions fc and the Assistant Secretary of the FCT Football Association Mr. Noah Omede who made inciting remarks which fueled further attacks on the match umpires, to desist from such or any acts that is capable of bringing the league to disrepute in the future.

Chairman FWC Champions. Mr. Botar Mkav Emmanuel received huge commendations from NNL for the display of high level of professionalism and great role he played in quelling the violence on match officials .

Similarly, the four match ban on Mr.Yakubu Yila Sadiq, the team manager of NAF FC is the consequence of the infamous role he played, leading the attack on match officials which resulted to bodily injuries on the referees in their week eight home match against Jigawa Golden Stars which ended 1-1.

NAF FC are also to pay the sum of one million naira (N1,000,000) and as a matter of urgency produce one Mr.Okoye who reportedly too, led the attack on the referees within the next fourteen days.

NNL ruled that home matches involving FWC Champions and NAF FC will be played under strict closed doors at the Area 10 Sports Complex field ,Abuja in line with provisions of nnl framework.

The NNL management mindfully, urged the FCT FA to keep ensuring the safety of match officials before, during and after games at all times.
