Zenith Emperor FC goalkeeper, Abdulrasheed Yusuf has expressed his disappointment following thier 6-0 loss to Valiant FC in the opening fixture of the NLO 2022/2023 season at the Surulere Legacy Pitch.
“I feel terrible,” said Yusuf in his post match interview with Sports247.ng.
“I’m not happy with the outcome, but there’s nothing I can do. We must make amends in our next game.”
When asked whether inadequate preparation was to be blamed for the defeat, Yusuf suggested that weather conditions had affected the players’ performance.
“The weather seemed to have a negative impact on many of the players which is why it ended as it did. However, we’ll take more precautions to ensure future outcomes are different.”
Yusuf expressed optimism that Zenith Emperor FC would come out on top of their group in upcoming matches.
He stated firmly, “we’ll be back in the game and reclaim our points in the next matches”.
