Humphrey Gabriel Eyes Record-fest In Taiwan Beer’s SBL Semi-Final Against Bank Of Taiwan

Nigerian talisman Humphrey ‘Gabe’ Gabriel is all set to rewrite history at taiwan’s Super Basketball League (SBL) 2023 this weekend. Gabe-led ‘TAIWAN BEER will meet BANK OF TAIWAN in the first semi-final.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Yulon Luxgen (18-10) against third ranked Taiwan Beer last Friday night. Yulon Luxgen were rolled over by third ranked Taiwan Beer (13-15) 83-56. Taiwan Beer dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Yulon Luxgen’s 34. They out rebounded Yulon Luxgen 48-27 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Qi-Min Lu (188-1989) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!).

Nigerian forward Gabriel Humphrey (195-1997) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners.
Guard Pin-Chuan Chen (180-1998) replied with 17 points and the former international Bamba Sarr (200-1997) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Yulon Luxgen. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
Taiwan Beer have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-15 record having five points less than leader Yulon Luxgen. Yulon Luxgen at the other side still keeps top place with ten games lost.
International Guard Qi-Min Lu (188-G-1989) had a great game in the last round for Taiwan Beer, receiving a Hoops Agents SBL Player of the Week award for round 29.

The 33-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Bank of Taiwan (#2, 16-13) 90-85. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. Taiwan Beer maintains the 3rd position in Taiwanese SBL. Taiwan Beer is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings.
They need more victories to improve their 14-15 record. Lu has many years of experience at Taiwan Beer, through which he has constantly improved. Qi-Min Lu averages this season 26.3ppg and 14.8rpg.
Taiwan Beer are looking forward to face league’s second-placed Bank of Taiwan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. The Best of Three game will be played on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday if need be. The winner will face off with top placed Yulon Luxgen in the finals
