Supporter Club Chairman Kazeem Adio Laments Agege Stadium Closure, Urges Authority Timely Intervention

The Former Supporters Club Chairman of Ikorodu United, Dream Stars, Vandrezzer FC, Kazeem Adio, popularly called Ozone has lamented the closure of the Agege soccer temple as he urged authorities in charge to intervene in renovating the pitch.

The Agege Stadium, which have been abandoned for the past two years is now a playground for people with plans of renovating the ground moving slow as it seems.

Agege stadium had shutdown for more than 2 year by the state government and the residents had lamented that the shutdown of the stadium had economic hardship on the petit traders.

“Nothing significant have been done so far since the stadium has been abandoned,” Kazeem Adio said in an interview with Sports247.ng.

“The stadium is now an event centre for different kind of occasions, which is not suppose to be,” he added.

In conclusion, he said “I hereby urged the relevant authorities to do something about the stadium in order to promote more grassroots development.”
