NLO 2022/2023: ‘One Needs A Moment Of Luck In Games Like This,’ Abubakar Musa Admits After Spartan FC Nervy Win Against Crime Fighters

Head coach of Spartan FC, Abubakar Musa has lauded his team fighting spirit following the nervy 2-1 win against Crime Fighters in the ongoing NLO 2022/2023 league attributing the victory to God being on thier side to give them the luck to scale through.

Abubakar admitted that one needs a bit of luck in tense moment as the one witnessed when his team scored a last ditch winning goal to secure all maximum points as they condemn Crime Fighters to bottom of the log.

Speaking after the game in his post match interview with Sports247.ng, the ex Enyimba man stated that he knew beforehand that the game will very difficult.

“I have foreseen this before hand, I saw it coming with my experience as a player, a game like this are always very difficult mostly against teams that we look at as underdogs gives the most problem in the competition.”

“So, even before the game, I told my boys to take the game very serious and we all saw how it comes but one thing with a team with winning mentality is that no matter what, at the end, if God is on your side, you will get the result,” Abubakar explained.

“Definitely we have worked so hard, now we need prayers to win the game. We got chances that we missed and that’s why I urged them to be prayerful individually and as a team, no matter how good you are, you need that element of luck.”

On the motivation for his team to get the winning goal after it was made known that whoever scores the winning goal will be rewarded, a smiling Abubakar conceded that it was key as the players knew what was at stake.

“Motivation comes in many form and I think the #20,000 promise from the team Papa was part of what motivated our players and he took that risk, a very good solo run from him to get the winning goal for the team.”

With the result, Spartan FC still remains unbeaten, wining five games and drawing one ahead of a crucial top of the league game against First Bank FC.
