Nigeria Women Volleyball League Not Planned For Abuja – Coach

The coach of Kaduna State’s team to the 2018 National Women Volleyball League in Abuja, Sulaiman Hassan has raised complaints over the organisation of the competition, which he says was originally not planned to hold in Abuja.

Speaking to sports247.ng about his impressions of the contest in the FCT, Hassan said he would have preferred the event to hold in Kaduna.

After his team lost their two opening games, he pointed out that a lot of money had already been splashed into making preparations for the competition to hold in Kaduna.

Hassan said he and his players are not happy that the event is not being hosted in Kaduna, but said they accept the decision in the interest of the nation.

He acknowledged that the decision was taken to relocate the event to the nation’s capital in the interest of the game.

Hassan added: “It is true that we were ready to host this competition in Kaduna.

“Huge resources had already been spent to hold the event initially in Kaduna.

“However, we have to abide with the situation, because we know that the league venue was changed from Kaduna to Abuja due to the recent violence that happened in the city.”
