Nigeria Scrabble federation: Eta Karo excited with Mind Games win, promises to do better on the continent

The Nigeria Scrabble federation as well as it board counterpart, Chess Federation have lauded renowned scrabble player Eta Karo after emerging winner of the scrabble event of the 2018 Mind Games Premier championship comprising of Scrabble and Chess games as players converged at the Lagos Country club Ikeja for the two day event, sports247.ng can report.

The finals of the two-day event featured a total of 76 male and female players in the scrabble event. Karo emerged overall winner of the Scrabble event to win the grand prize of 500, 000 naira while the first runner up went home with 250, 000.

Speaking after winning the scrabble event, Eta Karo said he has his sight fully on doing well at the Africa Scrabble championship in Kenya as well as the world championship in Malaysia.

In the chess events of the 2018 MindGames, Abdulraheem Akintoye saw off competition from over 50 chess players who attended the event to win the grand prize of 500, 000. Akintoye also believes that his success at the Games will help him develop as a player and help Nigeria win more laurels.

Mind Games Incorporated was founded in the year 2017 with the aim of revolutionalizing board sports in Nigeria and the whole of Africa.
