Electing technocrats to manage sports federations is paying off -Solomon Dalung

The ministry of youth and sports say some of the laudable activities witnessed in most of the sports federations have certainly justified the insistence of the honorable minister Bar Solomon Dalung not to impose people who know nothing about sports to run the affairs of the federation in the last sports federation’s elections.

Barr. Solomon Dalung during the last elections put out a mandate that federations should vote in technocrats who will improve the lot of their sport and just few months later the ministry believes the development of the various sporting federations is as a result of them heeding the advice of the minister.

Speaking on the impact on having technocrats running sports in the country, Permanent secretary of the ministry of sports Olusade Adesola in Abuja said that as long as this trend continues, various sports in the country will witness tremendous changes.

Since taking over office, successors in sports such as basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Rugby, Taekwondo have all improved tremendously.
