Head of Coaching Education at the Nigeria Football Federation, Terry Eguaoje, has confirmed that Nigeria is set to resume hosting top-level CAF coaching courses following the country’s readmission into the Confederation of African Football A Convention.
Speaking on the development, Eguaoje revealed that preparations are already underway to restart advanced coaching programmes within the country.
“Nigeria is back on track,” he said.
According to the NFF official, the federation plans to begin with a CAF B refresher course before launching the CAF A Licence programme in August.
“We already have plans in motion,” he implied.
Eguaoje explained that the return of the courses will save Nigerian coaches the stress and financial burden of traveling abroad to obtain CAF certifications.
“Coaches will no longer need to travel overseas,” he noted.
The coaching education boss also praised the leadership of the NFF for supporting efforts to restore the programme fully.
“The federation supported the technical department strongly,” he added.
For Eguaoje, improving coaching education is essential to raising the overall standard of football development across Nigeria.
“Better coaches help develop better players,” he stressed.
He believes the return of top-level CAF courses will create more opportunities for local coaches to grow professionally and compete internationally.
“This is a major step forward,” he said.
Nigeria’s readmission into the CAF A Convention has been widely welcomed across football circles.
For Eguaoje, the message is clear.
Invest in coaching education.
Develop local coaches properly.
And strengthen football from the technical side.
Because successful football nations are built on the quality of their coaching structures.
