Niger Tornadoes’ Chairman Praises Players’ Efforts

The chairman of Niger Tornadoes of Minna, Mallam Abubakar Gawu has showered encomiums on the players for their efforts at the recent Ahlan Pre-season Competition in Kano, where they won three straight matches without conceding a goal.

Sports247.ng reports that, although the team eventually lost to Wikki Tourist of Bauchi in last week’s semi-final, Gawu said the lads had been impressive and disclosed that they will now have a two-week break.

The team will resume on January 2, while full training will begin the following day, to commence preparations for the new NPFL season.

Gawu made this known to the players and the technical crew after they arrived in Minna from the pre-season competition in Kano.

He thanked the players for their performance, which he said was truly deserving of appreciation, while also justifying for them the Christmas and New Year break.

Gawu said: “I will like to commend the players for true sportsmanship and show of skill in the just concluded preseason tournament.

“The entire citizens of Niger State says well done. The governor Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello also send his congratulatory message to you all.”
