The secretary-general of Nigerian Grassroots Football Federation (NGFF), Pastor Oscar Ezinwa Emmanuel has discovered a very promising kid at SAB Football Academy of Surulere, named Abdulmalik Ottun.
Pastor Oscar told Sports247 that it so happened that he was walking past one of the open pitches at the stadium and he spotted the kid in training but the youngster stood out among the lot.
On his part, Ottun expressed gratitude to his mother, Lady Tawa Modupe, and revealed that her support makes him believe he can be geeater tgsn Portugal legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, who he admires everything about.
The versatile kid, who can play as a winger or attacking midfielder, is already growing fast under the guidance of veteran grassroots coach, Solomon Adeshina (aka Scala), who rates him among the most promising talents in the academy that trains within Lagos National Stadium complex in Surulere.
Ottun retorted, “I am lucky to have many people supporting me in football. Coach Adeshina is teaching me how to play, while TM Oscar is my mentor. He is a pastor and a good man who has encouraged me very much, just like a father.
“Victor Osimhen is my Nigerian and African role model, while Cristiano Ronaldo is my worldwide inspiration. I want to play for Real Madrid of Spain like Ronaldo did but I want to be greater than him.
“I also earnestly dream of playing for Nigeria’s national team one day. I want to be a great footballer in the future, though I am currently a student in SS2 at WasLat School, which is located at 4, Cole Street, Elegbata.”
He then took time to shower enconiums on his mother, who the youngster hailed as his biggest motivator, because she is always ready to assist him with whatever he needs to keep his football dream alive; hence his desire to make her proud by succeeding as a footballer.
“I also thank my mother, Lady Tawa Modupe, for how she is supporting me to grow in football. She is my motivator and the sole sponsor of my football career, academics and welfare. She always makes sure that I don’t lack anything.
“I have to thank her for how she is taking very good care of me and my siblings. I love her and will surely make her proud with my football career. She has done too much for me,” Ottun concluded.
