NFF: We have no rift with Rohr

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has declared that the football body and the technical adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr are in good terms.

Recently, there are growing reports that the German tactician contract may not be extended by the football body due to the ongoing misunderstanding between both parties with his current contract set to expire in June 2020, .

However, an insider in the NFF’s camp has watered down such reports and claimed that the media are blowing the issue beyond proportion.

The former Bordeaux manager has no intention of breaching his contract and willing to pen a new contract with the NFF in order to continue his progress with Super Eagles, the source clarified.

“Rohr does not have any issue with the federation. I don’t think Rohr hiring a lawyer to assist him negotiate his dealings with NFF so that he can focus on the Super Eagles job is an issue.

“NFF issuing him query does not affect their relationship. An employer can query his worker at any point in time, but that does not stop them from working together.

The source further explained, “Rohr has done well with the Super Eagles and I believe he will like to continue handling the team”.

Rohr led the Super Eagles to a 3rd place AFCON spot loosing out to eventual winners, Algeria.
