As congratulatory messages and lots of accolades continue rolling towards the cadet female national team, Flamingos, a former football star, Jide Oguntuase said coach of the side, Hkeem Busari has made him very happy.
Sports247 reports that Oguntuase, who made top marks with the under-20 and under-23 national teams as well as the Super Eagles during his playing days, declared further that every Nigerian coach must be proud of what Busari has achieved.
Oguntuase, who is now a football coach based in Ikorodu area of Lagos State, added in an exclusive chat with Sports247 that the Flamingos’ 3-1 spanking of Brazil in Wednesday’s semi-final at the FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup in Morocco was a historic achievement that made every Nigerian coach proud.
Although he stopped short of giving victory to the Flamingos over Japan in Saturday’s final, the former dashing winger of Julius Berger FC of Lagos hinted that winning the Female Cadet Mundial would be a huge boost to the image of indigenous Nigerian coaches.
Oguntuase, who is also a leading member of Lagos Legends group for ex-internationals, submitted: “I am very happy for myself as a coach. I am happy for Busari and Nigerian coaches as a whole.”
