NBBF boss Kida calls for more Private Sector Partnership

The President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Musa Kida has declared that all the achievements recorded in women’s basketball in the country is rooted to the involvement of the Private Sector Partnership.

Kida who praised Zenith Bank, the title sponsor of the Women’s Basketball Premier League also called on others to key in to the monumental transformation the sports is undergoing in the country.

“Basketball as a tool of National integration requires massive funding. It’s something you can’t take away from the game. Concerted efforts in terms of human, financial and material resources makes it a force to be reckoned with,” Kida explained to Sports247.ng in an Exclusive interview.

“The NBBF can’t do it alone in terms of paddling the boat and making sure that successes are recorded in the game of Basketball.”

“The achievements of D’Tigress on the Continent and World Stage has been made possible due to developmental structures put in place by the NBBF and the involvement of the private sector in Nigerian Basketball.”

“Zenith Bank has done well with their financial backing to the development of Women’s Basketball. Their support have been massive.

“Like Oliver Twist we are asking for more from other companies to join the Train of progress and achievement for Basketball to record more developments and accomplishments.”

The D’Tigress in this year’s Women World Basketball Championships held in Spain reached the quarter finals against expectations.
