A social development, human empowerment and charity project, Navaney Foundation is flaunting its efforts in taking youths from slums into relevance through football, as it relishes its positive effects in Ajegunle area of Lagos.
Sports247 reports that the foundation’s latest impact was at Orege Football Pitch, where the second edition of Navaney/Saint Mary’s All Stars Above 40 Championship came to a pulsating climax after a week of recreational activities.

Backed by Chief John Akpan, the leisure competition was graced by many former players, who demonstrated that age is no limitation to skill and love for the game, while also showcasing unity, discipline and sportsmanship.
By Fire by Force All Stars defeated Mile 2 All Stars 4-3 on penalties to clinch the title and ₦500,000, while ₦300,000 went to the runners-up, with ₦200,000 handed to Okoko All Stars after they placed third with a 4-0 victory over AA All Stars.
A statement posted on Instagram read in part, “(It) was a memorable day in the annals of our foundation as it was the Grand Finale of the Navaney Foundation/St Mary’s All Stars Champions Cup at Nathaniel Idowu Stadium in Ajegunle Lagos.
“This event had football teams, lovers and guests from all across Nigeria seated to enjoy the most loved game. The event was hosted by Navaney Charity Foundation, which splashed millions of Naira in various price categories.
“Through this single act, Navaney empower young people in various communities. We have not only taken a good number of youths from the slum but given them limelight as well as taken them to international stages with global recognition.”
