Nigeria’s Udodi Onwuzurike is setting his sights on a stronger finish to the season as he prepares to compete in the men’s 200m at the World Athletics Ultimate Championships in Budapest.

The 200m specialist has shown encouraging form this season, recording his fastest time of the campaign in June at the Zagreb Meeting.
Onwuzurike clocked an impressive 20.18 seconds with a headwind of -0.3m/s, finishing third in a highly competitive race.
Canada’s Andre De Grasse won the event in 19.95 seconds, while Morocco’s Yassine Hssine produced a national record of 20.00 seconds to finish second.
For Onwuzurike, the Zagreb performance provided evidence of his ability to compete against established international names, while his Commonwealth Games silver further underlined his credentials.
The Nigerian will now look to raise his level once again in Budapest as he takes on some of the world’s best 200m runners.
