“Missing the World Cup still hurts because Nigeria is always one of the teams people enjoy watching. It’s painful for all of us,” Agu said.

The former international noted that the Super Eagles have traditionally been among Africa’s biggest attractions at the World Cup, entertaining fans with their style of play and competitive spirit.

Despite the disappointment, Agu remains optimistic that Nigeria has the quality to recover and return to football’s biggest stage.

“We have the players and the talent to bounce back. The important thing now is to learn from the mistakes and ensure we qualify for the next World Cup,” he added.

Agu called on the Nigeria Football Federation, the coaching staff and the players to remain focused on rebuilding the team and restoring confidence after the disappointment of missing the global tournament.

He expressed confidence that with proper planning, stability and commitment, the Super Eagles can once again establish themselves among the world’s leading football nations.
