The new chairman of Lagos State Football Coaches Association (LSFCA), David Dosu has declared that the priority for him during his first tenure to ensure the body gets a befitting office complex of its own.
The former goalkeeper, who is popularly known as ‘Apelete,’ added in an exclusive interview with Sports247 that he also has plans for seminars and welfare packages for football coaches in Lagos State, but stressed that his first target is to see how they can get an office.
The former chairman of Ikeja Coaches Council and ex-international goalkeeper, Joseph Dosu’s older brother disclosed further that he contested for the post because he always had a strong desire to serve the state.
Dosu Snr declared, “I decided to contest for the post because I want to serve my state. I believe that we all have a duty to serve our states, and I decided to take up that responsibility in Lagos State.
“The coaches association is a big place, and I want to serve them. Even before I collected the ticket as their leader, I already had an idea of what I could do to make Lagos State coaches have better things in life.
“The first thing for me is to change the current situation whereby we do not have an office for Lagos State coaches. So, the first thing I want to do is get a befitting secretariat for the association.”
He concluded by admitting that there are many things he has to achieve during his tenure as the number one coach in Lagos State, but stressed that he will put all those areas of need on hold and concentrate on the office project first.
“Let’s first get an office, then we’ll think about other things that follow. We also have plans for seminars and many other things, but the office comes first. There are many projects that are part of my manifesto.
“Seminar, coaching courses, refresher programmes, proper welfare of coaches and many other things … they are all there for me to tackle as the chairman,” Dosu, who was elected unopposed last month, asserted.
