Abuja-based youngster Miracle Yakubu has emerged champion of the Boys U-12 category at the ongoing Adewale Isa Foundation National Junior Tennis Championship at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Yakubu produced a remarkable comeback in the final, overcoming Godwin Afaramai in a thrilling encounter that went down to the wire.
Sports247 reports that the youngster lost the opening set 4-6, but responded emphatically by taking the second set 6-0 to force a decisive match tiebreak.
With the title on the line, Yakubu held his nerve to edge Afaramai 11-9 in the deciding tiebreak and complete a stunning comeback victory. The triumph crowns an impressive campaign for the Abuja-based player, who demonstrated resilience and composure when it mattered most.
