In the first leg in Abeokuta, Ifeanyi made an immediate impact after coming off the bench, heading home less than a minute after her introduction to hand Nigeria a crucial advantage.
The dramatic intervention underscored her sharp instincts and readiness to deliver in key moments.
She followed up that performance with another clinical header in Dakar, breaking the deadlock in the 19th minute of the second leg to extend Nigeria’s aggregate lead.
Her early goal settled nerves and reinforced the Falconets’ control of the tie before Precious Oscar added a second to seal the victory and confirm Nigeria’s superiority over two legs.
Ifeanyi’s contributions proved even more significant in the absence of injured forward Janet Akekoromowei, whose setback had raised concerns about the team’s attacking depth.
Stepping into the spotlight, Ifeanyi showcased composure, aerial strength, and a knack for timely goals.
With her brace across both fixtures, the young forward has not only kept Nigeria’s World Cup hopes alive but also strengthened her growing reputation as a key figure in the Falconets’ campaign.
As Nigeria prepares for the final qualifying round, Kindness Ifeanyi’s emergence could prove pivotal in their quest for a ticket to Poland.
