Captain of the club, Mr Tang Dapoet said the participants are drawn from all over the country and beyond.

He added that Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong is backing the golf competition fully, due to giant strides he has made in promoting the sport in the country.

Declaring the competition open, Lalong said the tournament has since its inception in 2016 shown that Plateau State is very peaceful.

Dapoet disclosed: “In last year’s edition, we had 96 professional golfers that participated, but in this year’s tournament, over 200 from all over the country and beyond are participating.

“When we started this competition in 2016, people forget there is crisis in the state and this goes to show that Plateau is peaceful.”
