An improved offer of €25m tabled by Fulham of England for the signature of Super Eagles’ fast-rising central defender, Chibuike Nwaiwu may not be good enough to snatch him away from Trabzonspor of Turkey, Sports247 reports.
This is sequel to information from the city of Trabzon that the Turkish Super Lig outfit are insisting on €30m for them to release the lad who they bought for far much less early this year, then gave him a huge breakthrough into the spotlight.

With Trabzonspor having helped Nwaiwu etch his name into the annals of European football, get a Turkish Cup gold medal and become an international star for Nigeria in less than a year after his arrival from Austria, the Lig outfit feel obliged to make a profit grom his contract.
Consequently, Fulham are bound to miss out on their quest to see Nwaiwu link forces with his Nigerian national team colleagues – Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze – at Craven Cottage ahead of next season.
It also means Nwaiwu might not get to realise so soon his dream of starring in the English Premier League, as Fulham have received yet another damaging blow to their summer transfer quest, after an initial €20m offer was also earlier rejected.
The Cottagers upped their offer to €25m for Nwaiwu, as they move boldly to strengthen their defence, while also noting that one of their London-based rivals, West Ham United have also been linked with a move for the battling defender, but their chances remain slim.
Although Fulham’s offer falls just €5m short of what Trabzonspor have as their price tag, they jolly well might have to beef it up, as the Turkish outfit appear desperate to keep Nwaiwu, who got three goals and an assist in 16 league games this season.
An article by Turkish outlet, Taka61 further revealed, “Trabzonspor are reportedly holding out for around €30m before agreeing to sell the 22-year-old centre-back. Nwaiwu only joined the Turkish club in January from Austrian side Wolfsberger.”
