Eze Chukwuma, a promising Nigerian central defender and former standout of Ajuwa Football Academy in Lagos State, has achieved a major milestone in his football career by gaining promotion to the Spanish LaLiga with Real Oviedo.
The 21-year-old defender, born on November 16, 2003, in Lagos, joined Real Oviedo in 2021 after developing his skills with Colli Edwin SC and the renowned Ajuwa Academy, which has produced several rising Nigerian football talents. Chukwuma initially joined the youth ranks of Oviedo and later progressed to the club’s B team, Real Oviedo Vetusta.

In April 2025, Eze Chukwuma made his senior debut for the first team in a 1–0 victory over Levante UD in Spain’s Segunda División. Though he featured only briefly during the campaign, his presence in the squad has been regarded as part of a larger youth development strategy embraced by the club.
Real Oviedo secured promotion to LaLiga for the 2025/26 season after defeating Mirandés in the Segunda División playoff final. The promotion marks the club’s return to the top tier of Spanish football for the first time in 24 years.
