For the youngster, the invitation represents an important opportunity to test himself in a new football environment and potentially open the door to a professional career in Europe.
Ojelum is expected to use the trial period to demonstrate his attacking ability, movement, technical qualities and determination as he looks to convince the Spanish club that he has what it takes to continue his development in Spain.
Speaking ahead of the trial, the Nigerian youngster said:
“This is a big opportunity for me and I want to make every moment count. I have worked hard to get here, and now I have to show what I can do on the pitch. I’m ready to learn, compete and give everything I have to earn this opportunity.”
The trial also represents another encouraging moment for Rockers FC, with the Edo State club providing a platform for another young Nigerian player to pursue an opportunity outside the country.
For Ojelum, however, the focus is firmly on the task ahead.
A strong performance during the trial could potentially lead to another major step in his career and bring him closer to his ambition of becoming a professional footballer in Europe.
From Edo State to Spain, Ernest Ojelum has already made the journey. Now, he must let his football do the talking.
