‘Football Works With Passion’, G12 Football Club President Gives Insight On Proper Investment on Sports As He Reveals Plan For Next Season NLO Participation

President of G12 Football Club, Hakeem Mustapha Olatunji has given his take on the proper investment in football as the game growth and bountiful revenue lies in passion to carry on in face of the dirty politics involved during an exclusive interview with sports247.ng.

The sport-loving President who was on hand to watch his side 1-1 against 36 Lions at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere was caught on his feet motivating his boys in the stands.

He stated, “For you to have a football team, you must have a passion for football. Football isn’t but what you want to invest in because if you invest without passion, you can never get a good result.”

The kings’ Cup was scheduled to hold last year March but was delayed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

On why teams are avoiding to play his side, “Most teams are avoiding to play us because the way we play is unique, any team that wants to play Barcelona or Madrid will always get prepared to their level and standard. We give them a European standard information and training ethics obviously in the way we possess the ball, no rush and then tactically we get the result, so when they hear the result of our victory, they avoid to play us.”

Speaking on the team’s Nigeria League participation in the future, “We just started this team, there’s a lot of reason behind us not playing the Nigerian League, I have it in mind that maybe next year, something is going to happen at least to start with NLO.”

On the drive to help players, ” I am supposed to be a footballer myself but age stopped me so I have passion for it and I know what it means to be on the street, we have a lot of talents in Nigeria but no one to help and put them on the right way.”

“A lot of people have resources to help but when they see the dirty game in Football, they won’t want to invest and there’s where the passion comes in, if I look at the money I have spent and invested and seeing the boys progress, it usually gives me joy.”
