Dosu Prays Against Injuries For Nigeria’s Players

Former Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, Joseph Dosu Joseph has sent out a strong prayer for Nigerian players to be injury-free heading into the Africa Cup of Nations.

Making his thoughts known in a chat with sports247.ng on Thursday, Dosu said is will be good for all of the Eagles’ players to be fit in order for the team to do well at AFCON 2019.

Dosu stated further that the Eagles’ current squad already looks good and solid enough to compete with the best of Africa, but admitted that their strength could be reduced if some players are out due to injuries.

While backing Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr to hunt for some new players that could possibly get invitations before the Nations Cup, Dosu said it is imperative that the core of the squad remains intact.

Dosu added: “I truly hope that there wouldn’t be injury problems in the team; which could cause the Super Eagles not to have their best legs.

“However, I also want the coach to give opportunities to as many players that might be scouted before the Nations Cup.

“Should the coach spot any new player before making his final squad list, some of them could come in handy should the team by weakened with any case of injury at any point.”
