Doris Nwadiolu Memorial Cup : MWO Rtd. Gabriel Nwadiolu Optimistic Competition Will Produce Bountiful Developments

Gabriel Nwadiolu is optimistic and confident that the Doris Nwadiolu Memorial Cup, a grassroots initiative in Agbor will produce bountiful developments as the platform will enable young talents in football to blossom.

The 3rd Edition of the KG Sports Foundation and Doris Nwadiolu Memorial Cup which has since begun in Agbor, Delta State is gradually taking shape with teams finding thier footing in the grassroots tournament.

Participating clubs includes defending champions KG Sport Academy, Soccer stars FC, Delta Milan, Winners FC, Green Rangers, Sharp Strikers.

Other teams which completes the 8 team competition in this year’s edition which is organized by KG Sports Foundation are; Ultimate Stars and Mighty Wonderers of Abraka.

Speaking after KG Sports Academy 1-1 draw against Sharp Strikers, Pa Gabriel admitted that it’s a privilege to be alive to witness another edition of the tournament.

He rued KG academy’s not too exceptional performance insisting that they ought to have claimed maximum points.

“Both teams played well but KG team as a whole didn’t play to my expectations. They have every opportunity to wrap up the game but it’s surprising that they forcefully got a 1-1 draw which I never expected,” he lamented.

On the organization of officiating and players, he said, “actually from the beginning that is the KG director himself has made football easy and enterprising in Agbor, I’m happy with the way things are going on and I pray for him that whatever he has in mind about football in Agbor, Delta and Nigeria as a whole, I pray it comes up.

The finals of the tournament comes up on Monday 16th January at the Agbor Township Stadium.
