Covid19 Made Life Very Difficult For Players In Nigeria – Johnson Niemogha Acknowledges The Negative Effects Of The Pandemic…Celebrates Next Move

Lagos based Pharaoh’s Football Academy center back, Johnson Niemogha has admitted that 2020 has been a very bad year for footballers as it has had its negative impact on players on and off the pitch.

Johnson Niemogha is a center back playing in the Pharaoh’s Football Academy who was born on the 10th of November, 2000. He just got an invitation from Ringkobing IF in Denmark (4th Division) and would be moving to join his new team in January.

In a chat with Sports247, the 20-year-old admitted the impact of 2020 for players as being a bad one, as well as talking about his experience with the Pharaohs Football Academy in Nigeria.

“It’s been lots and lots of experience playing with the Pharaohs football Academy, beautiful experiences as well as ‘not so good’ experiences,” he said.

“The craziest part is the year 2020. It’s been hard for us footballers because we have not had the chance to train, to play much competition, to play many games. It’s been on hold, clubs Abroad haven’t had the chance to invite players to come for trials, because of the pandemic. So this year 2020 has been a very bad year for we footballers. But I have had a great experience with the team (Pharaoh’s football Academy), very good experiences. When I was contacted to join the team, playing with the team, having good teammates, we are just like a family in pharaohs Football Academy. It’s really really beautiful, it’s been great. I really hope for the best for Pharaoh’s football Academy as we grow”, he said.

The amazing young Center back while still speaking admitted that the dream of any player is to play abroad and that he had been planning his move abroad since 2018 but it just didn’t work out, he expressed his happiness about his move to Denmark as well.

“The dream of every player is to play abroad. I have been planning this move since 2018, it was supposed to materialize in 2019, but it didn’t and then in 2020, coronavirus came in. When I heard the news of my transfer, I was excited, super happy, and couldn’t hold my joy, because the dream of every player is to play in Europe. I couldn’t hold it. I got that transfer through my agent because I do send him videos of my games, highlights as well as my CV. It is advisable for every grassroots player in Nigeria to have their CV as well as a short edited video, showing themselves to the agent. My agent pushed mine, and from there, the transfer went through and I was very delighted”, he added.

Johnson Niemogha also said that he hasn’t signed the contract offered to him by the Danish Club, stating that he will do so when he gets there next year, together with his lawyer and both parties (Pharaohs Football Academy and Ringkobing IF) agree on the deal.

He finally urged Players, most especially Nigerian players to keep working hard and get good agents for themselves. He also encouraged them to always have good video clips on their CV given to their agent, as this will enhance their dreams of playing in Europe someday.

Johnson Niemogha has played the FA Cup, Kings Cup, and Trem Cup playing for the Pharaohs Football Academy.
