Contract Termination: “We Parted Way Base On Mutual Agreement”– Dreams 2 Reality CEO Deny Wrongdoing

The CEO Dreams 2 Reality Ltd, Mr. Efemena Isaac Apoterabo has denied the reports that his company was responsible for the termination of the sponsorship deal between Dreams 2 Reality and Utility Sports.

Recall that the President of Utility Sports Lawal Abiodun had earlier announced that the partnership deal between the two companies had been terminated with immediate effect accusing Mr. Apoterabo negligence.

However, Mr. Apoterabo has now denied the claims in an interview with Sports247 Nigeria, stating that Mr. Lawal initiated the termination of the contract.

He also disclosed that he has not hard feelings toward Mr. Apoterabo, that the two parties called it quits based on mutual agreement.

“I will say Mr. Lawan was a very reliable partner at that time. When Dream 2 Reality came in with Utility sports, they were not on that level but we tried our best to a certain level where we could compete against the best.

So, at a point in my life, I explained to Mr. Lawan about some issues. The investors were not able to invest anymore because they didn’t see any return from their investments and their attitude within the team at that time was not good. There are lots of issues concerning the players welfare, decisions marking, agreements and everything.

And one day, Mr. Lawan texted me that he is terminating the contract, that he doesn’t want to be in the deal any longer.

Prior to that, we’ve had some issues about this, we’ve been meeting for sometime. Though when he said he wanted to terminate the contract, I felt maybe he saw something else or he had better options because at that point, we were managing at our own pace.

Maybe Mr. LawaL was asking too much from us, the players, staff around at that point can testify that we are a very reliable partner because we brought a lot of talents and utility to the team as well.

We also presented a good image of the brand to the society, we did all we could do, we organised some programmes and also spent some money to put players out.

I don’t have any hard feelings again Mr. Lawan but still decided to terminate the contract even though I still have some belongings left with him at Utility sports, I mean personal belongings but I will not mention that we both need to outline.

My lawyer called me that Mr. Lawan has been traveling to reach him about the termination so I was shocked when I saw this article this morning about Utility Sports dropping Dream2Reality. It is 100% not true.

Utility Sports never dropped Dream2Reality, it was a mutual agreement for us to terminate the contract because I now have better opportunities where I felt I could express myself.

I guess it was best for all parties to move on. I’m not a football administrator, my company is an agency that promotes young talents so coming together with Mr. Lawan was a stepping stone to greatness but I don’t think he sees it that way.

I’m surprised with what I saw on the internet.”
