Clubs To Explore Grace of Mid-Season Window To Register New Players To Beef Up Their Squads – NNL

The thirty-eight (38) clubs competing in the Nigeria National League(NNL),2023/2024 season have been urged to maximize the NNL Open Window to shop and register new players in keeping with the framework of the League.

NNL Chief Operating Officer, Dr.Ayo Abdulrahaman while thanking clubs in Conferences C and D for their cooperation and smooth completion of the first stanza said “ Significantly, we expect the clubs to explore the grace of the Mid-Season window to register new players to beef up their squads as stipulated by the NNL rule book”

Teams in Conference C ended the first round on Sunday 21st of January,2024 while Conference D ended on Saturday 6 January,2024.

However, Dr. Abdulrahaman told NNL Media that the commencement date for the remainder of the season will be announced in due course and that the four conferences (A, B, C & D) will all have a uniform commencement date after the completion of matches in Conferences A & B in the next two weeks.

Conferences A & B have MATCH DAYS 10 and 11 all things being equal will end their first periods on the 4th of February,2024.

In the meantime, Conference C fifty-nine (59) goals were scored in the first quarter of the season, with three (3) Away wins, twelve (12) draws, and twenty Home wins.

Wikki Tourists of Bauchi Top Conference C at the end of 36 rounds of matches in the first half of the season with sixteen (16) points and a plus 10 goals difference and are followed by El-Kanemi Warriors and Nasarawa United in second and 3rd places with 15 and 14 points respectively.

ABS of Ilorin, anti-graft side EFCC, and Nigeria Airforce (NAF) outfit are in the relegation zone.

In Conference D, a total of forty-eight (48) goals were recorded even as we await the final result of the Malumfashi versus Sokoto United match day seven (7) encounter. Five (5) Away wins, five (5) draws, and sixteen (16) Home wins.

Sporting Supreme Football Club of Abuja leads the pack in Conference D with 14 points and a plus-four goals difference and closely followed by Sokoto United with 12 points and Adamawa United with 11 points.

Kebbi United, City Football Club of Abuja, and Malumfashi Football of Katsina are in the murky waters of relegation.
