Bewarang Rues Francis Uzoho’s Injury

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical director, Bitrus Bewarang has described as a big blow to the Super Eagles the shock injury that his Elche of Spain goalkeeper, Francis Odinaka Uzoho.

Bewarang said in an interview with sports247.ng that seeing Uzzoho injured so close to the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier away to South Africa is a major setback for Nigeria.

The former Eagles’ assistant coach stressed that Uzoho’s injury is a bad development, considering the magnitude of Nigeria’s upcoming clash with South Africa in Johannesburg on November 17.

However, Bewerang went on to declare that the goalkeeper’s injury, as is the case with any other player in the Eagles, should give room for others in their position to fill and do well in his absence.

Bewarang opined: “As much as Uzoho will be missed, I expect the coach to get the best out of the alternatives available to him.

“There are two other goalkeepers already invited and one to join them in place of Uzoho.

“The coach should be able to get the best out of the other three. In fact, he should be about to line out the best legs that will do the battle for Nigeria even in the absence of anyone that is injured.”
