It was no victor no vanquished during a much-awaited exhibition game between Badagry Football Stakeholders and Iba Coaches Council (IBCC) at Agboju Grammar School, opposite FESTAC Town 2nd Gate, Lagos, Sports247 reports.

The match, which was organised by Badagry Division Football Association (BDFA) to kick-start burial rites for late grassroots coach, Osahon Emokpae, was a very lively encounter that was preceded by a minute’s silence in honour of the late esteemed tactician cum administrator.
Among the guests in attendance, who heaped showers of accolades on the late founder of Young Stars FC of Satellite Town, Lagos, were the secretary-general of Nigerian Grassroots Football Federation (NGFF), ex-players and other esteemed personalities.
Also present were former Italy-based player-turned-agent, Marshall Mbre, as well as chairman of Lagos State Coaches Association, Raymond Akalugbo and the director-general of Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government sports council, McTony Amaelechukwu.
The late coach’s assistant at Young Stars FC, Hyginus Okoye said the draw was a befitting end to a friendly exhibition game, as it reflected the peaceful nature of Osahon Emokpae and the spirit of sportsmanship that he exuded all through his lifetime.
NGFF scribe, Oscar Ezinwa Emmanuel said afterwards, “This is just the beginning of our little way of honouring Coach Osahon. He gave all his life to football, so we must honour him with matches. It’s the least we can do to immortalise him.
“Our next plan is to stage a mini-football competition involving 12 teams at FHA Stadium, FESTAC Town. Everyone who Coach Osahon touched one way of the other will be involved in the one-day competition on August 13th.”
Sports247 reports further that a large number of guests and participants at the match moved straight to Coach Osahon’s family house at Satellite Town immediately after the game in order to meet up with the service of songs.
They will gather there again early on Friday for the funeral service, then move in a procession to Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos for interment of the highly-respected youth football motivator, who was until recently the caretaker chairman of BDFA.
