As eulogies continue rolling in favour of late Coach Osahon Emokpae, the director-general of Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Sports Council, Mr. McAnthony Anuforo Anaelechukwu has described the highly respected gaffer as a man who always put other people first in all that he did during his lifetime.

McAnthony stated this while reflecting on the days of late Osahon in an exclusive interview with Sports247 during a ceremonial football match organised in honour of the late coach by Badagry Division Football Association (BDFA).
The erudite football administrator, who is also the director-general of Peakline Sports World Limited, further disclosed that the late founder and head coach of Young Stars FC of Satellite Town, Lagos gave him a lot of inspiration about how to promote grassroots football.
Anaelechukwu recalled, “He was a man who inspired a lot of things in me. A very noble person, quick to learn, and someone who always loved to put others first in whatever he did in life.
“It’s so unfortunate that he passed on at this early age. We all would have wished to see him get more time to help redefine what Badagry Football Association stands for.
“The few months he spent with the Badagry FA really made people know that things can still happen at the community level.
“One example was Oba Akran Cup that we all celebrated in Badagry. Although he did not start it, he completed it to a very reasonable and logical final.”
The local government sports buff continued with a declaration that the death of Coach Osahon is a huge blow to youth development and growth of football across Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole, not just his immediate neighbourhood.
“His passing is a great loss to football in general, not just Badagry Division or only Lagos State. It’s a big loss to the whole of Nigerian football.
“It’s on record that he trained the likes of Paul Onuachu, who plays for the Super Eagles. It also gladdens my heart to know that Paul Onuachu did not neglect him during his trying time.
“He gave his best to support his first coach’s healing process. We are sad that we lost Coach Osahon, but we can’t question God at this time. We just have to wish his family and those he left behind fortude to bear the loss,” Anaelechukwu concluded with a solemn supplication.
