Azubuike announces departure from Turkish side

Nigeria’s Dream Team VII captain, Azubuike Okechukwu has announced his departure from the Turkish side, Rizespor after five months on loan at the club.

Azubuike, who joined Rizespor in January 2019 on loan from Egypt Premier League side Pyramids FC announced his departure via his social media handle.

“As we concluded the season, I want to say a very big thank you to Caykur Rizespor, my coaches and tireless teammates for making the last 5 months a memorable one,” Azubuike said.

“I won’t forget the amazing fans of Rizespor and I hope we meet again.”

Azubuike had become an important player to the club since his loan move and featured for 84 minutes in the team’s last match of the season against Trabzonspor which they lost 3-2.

Rizespor finished 11th on the table with 41 points from 34 matches.
